Biography

Albridgton was born about 1705. He was a son of Matthew Jones. [1] On 25 June 1746, John Simmons, in his will, devised to my daughter, Elizabeth Jones, my white horse which I had of William Pleasant, and also to her husband Elberton [ALBRIDGTON] Jones, a mourning ring. [2] Elizabeth passed away about 1765. On 1 March 1770 a marriage agreement was made between Albridgton Jones and Mary Simmons. [3] Albridgton passed away in 1786. [4]

Proof of Father Matthew Jones

Albridgton Jones, son of Matthew, was to receive the legacy to Matthew's daughter, Agathy if she had no heirs. Matthew Jones devised his plantation bought of Thomas Briant at Nottoway Swamp to his daughter Ann. [1] On 24 October 1741, Thomas Holt and wife Anne of Surry County sold 100 acres, in Nottoway Parish, Isle of Wight, for 25 pounds to Albridgton Jones of the Isle of Wight. Witnesses were Edmund Godwin, Nathaniel Ridley and John Eley. Deed signed by Thomas Holt and Anne Holt. [5]
