Note: The 1870 census stated that Thomas was age 50, born New York. The 1880 census states that Thomas is age 50, born Michigan with parents born New Hampshire. In both cases, he can not read/write and is listed as a laborer. The 1860 census has his age as 26, but born in Michigan - so it's likely that he was born about 1830.

Note: Death certificate of Aaron Jones states his father was Thomas Jones (birth Michigan) and mother was unknown.

Note: In the 1860 census there is a Hannah Jones living in the household (and is listed immediately after Thomas and Emaline but before Isaac and George) who is age 15. It is unlikely that she is a daughter of Thomas based on ages reported in this census (Thomas would have been 11 when she was born). It is likely that this Hannah is a sister to Thomas.
