ELIZABETH HUGHES.
Bu farw ar 24 o Fawrth 1833, Eiizabeth Hughes, yr hon ydoedd ferch hynaf y Parch. T. Jones, Gweinidog yr Efengyl yn mhlith yr Ymneillduwyr yn Newmarket, swyddFflint;—a'r hon ydoedd yn wraig i John Hughes, Purgatory o'r plwyf uchod. Yr hyn a achlysurodd ei marwolaeth ydoedd fel hyn;—Cymerwyd hi yn glaf gan wewyr esgor, ac yn fuan fe'i rhyddhawyd trwy eni mab i'r byd, yr hyn a barodd lawenydd— fel ag y dywedodd ein Harglwydd—fel yr anghofiwyd y gofid mwyach. Am yr wythnos gyntaf hi a ymddangosodd yn gwneuthur yn dda, a phawb ag oedd yn ei gweled yn gobeithio yn fawr y byddai hi yn fuan yn dychwelyd i'w chyflawn nerth; ond och! yn nghanol ein bywyd yr ydym mewn angeu, ac yn ein Uawenydd mwyaf mae'n aml dristwch yn ymyl—felly yn ddi- symwth cymerwyd hi eilwaith yn glaf gan gryndod mawr yn ei dal, pa un a effeith- iodd ar ei holl aelodau fel y chwyddasant yn dost, ac i raddau yn dirymu. Yn y cyfyngder yma anfonwyd at y meddyg yn ddioed, yr hwn a'i gwyìiodd yn agos î wythnos; ac wrth ei gweled yn gwaethygu anfonwyd am feddyg arall, yr hwn a ddy- wedodd fod egwyddorion bywyd yn rhy isel i'w codi, ac ede'r galon bron a thori. Felly er pob ymdrech meddygon, gweddîau a dagrau priod a rhieni anwyl, prydnawn ddydd Sabbath (yr hwn nid anghofir yn fuan gan y rhai oedd wyddfodol) hi a anadlodd yr anadl olaf, tawel hunodd yn yr Iesu yn ol gobaith pawb a'i hadwaenai, ac ehedodd ei henaid at yr ailenedig dyrfa. Dydd Mercher canlynol, ymgasglodd ei pherthynasau a'i brodyr crefyddol, yn nghyda rhai cymmydogion at y tý, a hebryngasant ei rhan farwol i Hen Gapel Newmarket, i'w rhoddi yn y tŷ rhagderfyn- edig i bob dyn byw. Cyn cychwyn y corph gwedd'iodd y Parch. W. Rees, Heol Mostyn; yna cerddwyd yn araf tua'r Capel, lle y pregethodd y Parch. T. Philìips, D.D. a bedyddiodd y baban cyn rhoi corph ei fam yn y gell dywyll, yr hyn sy'n gwirio a ddywed Selyf, " Un genedlaeth a ddaw, a chenedlaeth arall a â ymaith." Ac wedi araeth bwysig, yn nghyda gweddi, gan y Parch. W. Rees, rhoddwyd y corph yn y pridd hyd ganiad yr udgorn mawr, pryd y bydd y chwyldroad mwyaf i fòr a thir, ac y deffry holl gyrph y dyffryn.—Gellir dy- wedyd yn ddibetrus am dani o ran ei chy- meriad moesol, ei bod yn un o'r gwragedd goreu a ddynesodd at allor Hymen erioed, ei bod yn goron i'w gwr, ac yn anrhydedd i'w theulu. Bu farw y 36 mlwydd o'i hoedran, a'r 20fed o'i phroffes grefyddol. Gadawodd ar ei hol dri o fechgyn bach, dau yn ddiau a'i cofiant hyd lan y bedd, a phriod torcalonus a galarus. C------LL.
English translation:
ELIZABETH HUGHES.
Died on 24 March 1833, Elizabeth Hughes, who was the eldest daughter of Rev. T. Jones, Minister of the Gospel among the Dissenters in Newmarket, Flintshire; - and she was the wife of John Hughes, Purgatory from the above parish. What caused her death was like this; - She was taken sick by those in labor, and soon she was released by the birth of a son into the world, which caused joy - as our Lord said - as it was forgotten the sorrow no more. For the first week she appeared to be doing well, and everyone who saw her hoped very much that she would soon return to her full strength; but oh! in the middle of our life we are in danger, and in our greatest sorrow there is often sadness near - so suddenly she was taken ill again by a great trembling in her hold, which affected all her limbs as they swelled painfully, and to a certain extent annulled. In this straitness he was sent to the doctor without delay, who called him close to a week; and seeing her getting worse, another doctor was sent for, who said that the principles of life were too low to raise her, and the heart almost broke. So despite all the efforts of doctors, prayers and tears of beloved spouses and parents, on the Sabbath afternoon (which will not soon be forgotten by those who were present) she breathed her last breath, quietly slept in Jesus according to the hope of all who knew her , and his soul flew to the reborn crowd. The following Wednesday, her relatives and her religious brothers, together with some neighbors, gathered at the house, and escorted her mortal remains to Old Newmarket Chapel, to be placed in the predetermined house for all living men. Before starting the body the Reverend prayed. W. Rees, Mostyn Road; then we walked slowly towards the Chapel, where the Reverend preached. T. Phillips, D.D. and baptized the baby before putting his mother's body in the dark cell, which verifies what Selyf says, "One generation comes, and another generation goes away." And after an important speech, accompanied by a prayer, by Rev. W. Rees, the body was placed in the soil until the sound of the great trumpet, when there will be the biggest revolution to sea and land, and all the bodies of the valley will wake up. - It can be said without hesitation about her in terms of her character. moral, that she was one of the best women who ever approached Hymen's altar, that she was a crown to her husband, and an honor to her family. She died at the 36th year of her age, and the 20th of her religious profession. She left behind three little boys, two who will no doubt remember her to the grave, and a heartbroken and grieving husband. C-------LL.
