Biography
Birth
John Jones was born on 25th April 1825 and baptised two years later on 9th December 1827 in Taynton, Oxfordshire[1]. He was the son of John Jones (1801-) and Mary (Taylor) Jones (abt.1803-1874). His father stated on the register that he was a labourer and that the family were living in Taynton at the time. Both John's birth and baptism dates were recorded on the register and his baptism took place on the same day as his younger brother William.
Census
In 1841 John Jones was living at Taynton with John and Mary Jones and their other children. His age was given as 15[2]
