Riva Kagan was born in Karsava before 1925 as the first child of Abraham Wolf Kagan (1880-1941) and Tauba Kagan nee Super (1885-1965).
She had a younger sister named Raya.
Her paternal grandparents were Khastriel and Riva and maternal grandparents Abraham and Raya Super.
When the war started, some people from Karsava started to leave town as they knew that the Nazis are coming.
Riva's father Abraham Wolf was shot to death in the street of Karsava in 1941. Raya was able to leave with her mother Tauba and sister Raya.
They stayed through the war in Russia and then came back to Latvia and moved to Riga.
Raya's mother, Tauba Kagan nee Super died in 1965. Raya and Riva came to Israel with their families. Her sister Raya later moved to New York where she died in 2002.
Riva died in Israel in 2003.
