Biography

Mrs S. B. Minteer

Mrs. Daniel Younkins of this city received word Saturday morning of the death of her mother Mrs. S. B. Minteer, which occurred Friday night at the home of another daughter Mrs. R. P. Dickinson of 19 Meade Street, Wilkinsburg, Pa. Mrs. Minteer, who formerly resided in Butler, was aged 81 years. She had been a member of the United Presbyterian church for many years and a faithful Christian woman being highly respective by all who knew her. Her husband who was a well known Civil war veteran, died some years ago.

Mrs. Minteer is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Younkins of Butler, Mrs. Dickinson of Wilkinsburg, J. N. Minteer of East Brady, Pa., J. W. Minteer of Tulsa, Okla, W. F. Minteer of East Liberty, Pa., and Mrs. W. C. Patton of Worthington, Pa.

Funeral services were held at the Dickinson home in Wilkinsburg at 3 O'clock Sunday afternoon. Internment will be at the Slate Lick cemetery in Armstrong county at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon.

(Joseph MInteer) He married Sarah B., who is now living in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of Adam and Rachel (Lorimer) Kalp, and a sister of Mary Martha, married (first) Carl Truxal, who was killed during the Civil War; she married (second) John Mullen, and she died in August, 1892.
