In 1854 Elizabeth (age 19) and her husband, Edward (age 30, Carpenter, from Middlesex) emigrated to Australia on the ship "Ostrich" with their son, Edmond (age 1), arriving in Port Adelaide on 21 Jul 1854 (sailed from Southampton 20 Apr 1854). ^{[3] [4]}

Elizabeth Ann Gigney (Widow of Edward Gigney) died on 21 May 1919, aged 84 years, in Murray Park, Norwood, South Australia, Australia. ^[5] Her death was reported in the Chronicle (Adelaide, SA : 1895 - 1954) Sat 31 May 1919 Page 31 ^[6]

Her funeral was advised in The Express and Telegraph (Adelaide, SA : 1867 - 1922) Thu 22 May 1919 Page 2 ^[7]

GIGNEY —THE FRIENDS of the late Mrs. ELIZABETH ANN GIGNEY are respectfully informed that her Remains will be removed from her late Residence. Gladstone-avenue. Murray Park. Magill, on THURSDAY, at 4 o'clock, for interment in the Woodforde Cemetery, Magill.
