John Jacob Kennel was born on 9 Sep 1784 in Northampton, Province of Pennsylvania, son of Theobald Dewalt Kennel and Elizabeth Erdman.
His siblings were:
- Catherine Kendall (~1766–1850)
- Sara Kennel (1782–1862)
John and Susanna Schneck were married. Their known son was Aaron Kennel (1823–1863).

John passed away on 16 Feb 1868, aged 83.[1] He was buried in Neffs Union Cemetery, Neffs, Pennsylvania.
