Biography

Mary Ann Kent (married name Crawford) was born in 1820 in St Columb Major, Cornwall, England,^[1][2] the daughter of Jane Kent and Nicholas Kent.^[1][3]

She was christened on 27 December 1820 in Cornwall.^[1]

At the time of the 1851 England Census she was recorded in her father's household on Fair Street in St Columb Major, and had employment as a housekeeper.^[4]

In 1854 she emigrated to Australia aboard the "Nestor" with her brother Robert.^[5]

She married Francis Crawford on 31 May 1855 at St Marks Church in Collingwood, Victoria, Australia.^[2] Their children were:

• Andrew George Crawford (1856–1930)^[6]
• Edward Kent Crawford (1858?–1904)^[7]
• Henry Francis Crawford (1860–1901)^[8]
• Harriet Jane Crawford (1862?–1862)^[9]

Mary died on 19 July 1889 at her home on Byron Street in St Kilda, Victoria.^[3][10]

Mary was born about 1822. She passed away in 1889.
