Sarah was the daughter of Elisha and Susanna (Ford) Kent
She married Melzar Sampson, son of Charles and Mary (Church) Sampson, on 2 Mar 1780 at Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA - parents of Sarah, Lucy and Melzar Sampson. Following the death of her husband in Duxbury, where he is buried, she went to North Haven, Maine with her children: Lucy and Melzar Jr.
She is buried at Kent Cove Cemetery, North Haven, Knox, Maine, United States
