Ambrose was born 27 Jun 1892 in McAlester, Tobucksy, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, the son of Charley Key and Annise Stanton. Ambrose passed away 24 May 1976 in Kerrville, Kerr, Texas. He is buried at the Junction Cemetery, Junction, Kimble County, Texas.^[2]

On 29 January 1907, J. R. Trout was appointed Curator Ambrose Key and Beatrice Snider.^[3][4]
