William Francis Kiddey was born on the 18 April 1897 to William Frederick Kiddey and Mary/Marie Condon/Radovonich. [1] On the WW1 enlistment forms he says his date of birth is the 8 April 1895. [2]
He enlisted for service in WW1 on the 12 October 1915. In the medical examinaton he is described as being 5 feet 3 and 3/4 inches tall, with a sallow skin, brown eyses and black hair. He had bad teeth, and was to have dentures.
He worked as a cycle repairer and lived at 50 Rolleston Street. [3]
Frank was killed in action in Belgium on the 24 February 1917.
KlDDEY.—November 24. killed in action, France, Corporal Frank Kiddey, son of W. F. Kiddey, 74, London Street, Richmond; aged twenty.[4]
KlDDEY.—November 23, 1917, killed in action, Serjeant Frank Kiddey, 3rd Battalion, N.Z.R.B. A young Briton who has done his bit.[5]
