He was taxed on 300 acres in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in 1772 and sold interest in Father's farm to brother in law Hugh Gibbs, 1/2/1778. His Pension: PA - VA; W9712. During the Revoultion, he served in Capt. Wm. Thompson's Company of Col. Jos. Armstrong's 5th Regiment, near Gen. Stirling's troops, New Brunswick, New Jersey, 12/1776 - 4/1777. Also Capt. Wm. McClure's Company, 2nd Battilion; Cumberland County Militia. He resided in Cumberland County and elsewhere (Westmoreland County) in Pennsylvania. Until 3/1780, when he removed to (Louisville) Jefferson County, Virginia. (With Hugh and Ash Emison) down the Ohio River to Kentucky. See Capt. Wm. Lytle's group herein).
Thomas acted as Father and Bondsman, at the wedding , 5/15/1787 near Bardstown, of his orphaned niece Margaret Mossman, to Capt. Wm. McClure. At Shelbyville, Kentucky, 1794. He was appointed guardian of son Charles (for Cumberland County, Pennsylvania) the Mother Esther having died.
He moved from Jefferson County, Kentucky to Vincennes, Indiana in 1802 and settled near Bruceville, Indiana. 1806. Buried at the Upper Indiana Church.
