At the age of 21, on 20 August 1901, John married Olive Mildred (Jackson) Kimber (1878 - 1969) in the residence of W. Moffatt in Port Pirie, South Australia. Olive (daughter of Henery Farnington Jackson) was also 21 years old.[2]
John died on 2 March 1969 at the age of 90, in Semaphore, Port Adelaide Enfield City, South Australia, Australia.[3]
