John Kinch was born in North Gower in 1875. He was the son of John Kinch and Bridget Agnes Bowland. He moved to Manitoba where he a farm labourer on the Taylor farm. He married Sarah Taylor around 1902. She died in 1910.
He married Elizabeth Brennan nee Hyndman in Bells Corners in 1912. He passed away in 1931.
Relatives and many friends attended the funeral of John Kinch, well known and highly respected resident of Stittsville, on Tuesday afternoon, January 6, from his late residence to St. Thomas Anglican Church, Stanleys Corners, where Rev. Mr. Iveson conducted the service.
Born in 1875 in North Gower, Mr. Kinch was one of the most prominent residents of the district and his death was widely mourned. His wife predeceased him some years ago.
Six of his old neighbors carried the casket to the grave, they being: Thomas Bradley, Harold Spearman, Delmer Graham, Charles Lyttle, Harold Lewis and William Bell.
The chief mourners were three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Moore, of Stittsville: Mrs. James Hehner, and Mrs. N. Clost, of Ottawa; three sisters, Mrs. George Ledger, Mrs. Thomas Parks and Mrs. Robert Hyndman; eight grandchildren also survive.[1]
He was buried in Saint Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Stanley Corners.[2]
