Biography

Ann King 22 Oct 1826 a servant in East Teignmouth in 1841, a servant at Highweek in 1851 aged 24. married Robert Quick in 1851 in Newton Abbot district. In 1861 Robert 36 was an ag lab living in Berry Lane Kingsteignton with Ann 35, George 8, Emma 6 and Mary Elizabeth 4 months, all born at Kingsteignton. In 1871 Robert was a tanner’s labourer living in Berry Lane with Ann 46, George 18 a clay cutter born in Highweek, Mary 10, and a boarder.. In 1881 Robert 56 was a labourer living in Mill Lane Highweek with Ann 54, George 29, Edith 13 and mother-in-law Mary King 82. In 1891 Robert 66 was a farm labourer living in Mill Lane with Ann 65 and a lodger. Robert died in 1893. In 1901 Ann widow was living by herself on parish pay in Gilberd’s Alms Houses in Highweek. In 1911 Ann 84 was living in Bradley Cottages, Highweek. She died in 1912 aged 86.
