Biography
William was baptised on 11 November 1744 at Compton Martin, Somerset, England, the son of William and Edeth King.[1]
William King married Hannah Roynon 30 May 1770 at Compton Martin, Somerset, by Licence. The witnesses were Richard Roynon and William York.[2]
Wiliam and Hannah baptised several children at Compton Martin, including: Wiiliam (1770); John (1772): James (1774); Henry (1776); Hester (1778); George (1780) and Ann (1783).[3]
William died at Moreton, Compton Martin in January 1790 and was buried at Compton Martin, The parish register notes: 'On Wednesday January the 27th 1790 William King of Morton Tything in this parish was buryed, for which, according to the antient [sic] custom a mortuary of the sum of Six Shillings was paid for an House holder of this parish'[4]
