Biography

Hugh was born before 1845. He is the son of Hugh Kinrade and Sarah Cowley. He was privately baptised at Lezayre on 09 Aug 1845 and received into the congregation on 21 Dec 1845. It appears the Hugh and John Thomas were twins - with Hugh being baptised over 4 months earlier in a private ceremony, possibly he was the weaker twin and thought likely to die.

Hugh was the Vicar of Patrick.

REV. HUGH KINRED.

Mr W. Kinred, formerly of Gundagai, has received word of the death in England of his brother, Rev. Hugh Kinred, who had sent out to Australia for his brother Charles to return to England on account of his brother's failing health, he being the executor named in the Rev. Hugh Kinred's will. For 27 years he had been rector of the same spiritual charge. He was a bachelor, and left valuable estate. News of his death was cabled to Colombo to his brother Charles, who was on his way to the homeland in response to Rev. Hugh Kinred's solicitation.^[1]
