George Kirk was born in Queensland, Australia

George Gilchrist Kirk was born on 17th November 1921 in Gayndah, Queensland, Australia. He was the firstborn child of Archibald Kirk and Mary Gilchrist. [1]

George Kirk is a Military Veteran.
Served in the Second Australian Imperial Force 1942-1945
General Details Depot

On 15th April 1942, with the Second World War ominously close to Australia's north, George transferred from the Australian Military Force (Militia) to the Second Australian Imperial Force, his nation's all-volunteer expeditionary force. He listed his father as next-of-kin, indicating that he was yet single. The war won in Europe and being pushed north towards Japan in the Pacific, he was demobilised on 24th May 1945. His final posting was to the General Details Depot. [2]
