George was born in Maidstone in1859. He was the son of Ann Jane Kitchen. Samuel Deller married his mother in 1861 and after that time George was known as George Henry Deller. Samuel may have been his biological father.
By 1871[1] he was 12 years old and living in Tottenham, Middlesex with his parents and three siblings: Anne 7, Henry 4 and baby William. His father was a bricklayer.
George married[2] Ada jane Elsworth in 1895 in Edmonton.
According to the 1911 census[3] George and Ada had been married for 16 years and had had four children, all still living. George was a naval pensioner, working as a furniture porter in a removals warehouse. At the time of the census their son George 13 and daughter Kathleen 3 were living at home. The four of them were living in two rooms at 536 Wharncliffe Gardens, Maida Vale, London.
