According to her gravestone, Clara Elisabeth Klinke or Klincke was born on 9 December 1745 [1]. Her ancestors were of special interest amongst Dutch National-Socialists during WW2, in an attempt to show how German the Dutch politician (and her grandson) Johan Rudolph Thorbecke was. Research from the time period shows that she was born in Osnabrück to Johann Christian Klincke and Regina Margaretha Lindemann [2].
The same research shows that she got married to Daniel Franz Thorbecke on 2 November 1762 in Osnabrück [2]. This date is confirmed by a text written for their 50 year anniversary in 1812 [3].
She died on 1 February 1826 in Osnabrück and was buried at the Johannis Friedhof [1].
