Benjamin Knap of Sturbridge died intestate and on 23 May 1747, his brother Abijah Knap of Marlborough was granted the administration of his estate.[1]
His inventory was taken on 18 August 1747 in Sturbridge.[2]
In 1748, an account of his estate by Abijah Knap was recorded which included wages due to him as a soldier, debts paid, appraisers, and administration fees.[3]
In 1748, his estate could not be divided without spoiling the whole, so it was settled upon Abijah Knapp, who agreed to pay the other heirs their share, James Knap, Elisha Knap, John Knap, Mary Underwood, wife of Samuel Underwood, and Elizabeth Knap.[4]
