Mr. Mary Ann Lefeber, 98, passed away at her home in Fond du Lac at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Lefeber, a daughter of pioneer settlers, is survived by 131 direct descendants.

Nee Mary Ann Knaus, she was born In Johnsburg on February 4, 1855, the daughter of Matthias and Anna Catherine Olig Knaus. She was married to Joseph Lefeber of Mt. Calvary, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1929.

The couple operated a farm near Johnsburg for 20 years, then operated a farm near St. Cloud. In 1918, they left the farm and made their home in Fond du Lac. She was a member of St. Marys Altar and Rosary Society and the Third Order of St. Francis.

Survivors include 10 children; Mrs. Frank Michels of Sboyn;Mrs. Gertrude Michels; Math; and Miss Clara Lefeber, all of Fond du Lac; Mrs. Anton Pauly; Michael; John; Christ; and Stephen, all of St Cloud, and Alois of New Holstein. Also surviving are 39 grandchildren and 82 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Lisowe Funeral Home, St. Cloud and at 10 alm. at St. Claudius Catholic Church, St. Cloud. The Rev. Roman Stoffel will be celebrant of the requiem high mass and burial will be made in the church cemetery.
