Israel was born about 1909,[1] probably in Panevezys, Panevezys, Lithuania, then part of the Russian Empire.
Israel immigrated to South Africa, probably in the 1920's and possibly traveling with his mother, brother Peisakh, and/or brother Shaia Yitzyk, who also immigrated there.
Israel married Pesha Malka Unknown, who was known as Pauline in South Africa[2] and they had at least two children, both sons[1]
Israel died October 31, 2001 in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa and was buried in grave number 7495 of the Pinelands 1 Cemetery in Cape Town, South Africa. His gravestone shares a pedestal with his wife's. The inscription, which begins in Hebrew, then switches to English, includes:[1]
