Biography

Benjamin Edwin "Ben" Krause was born in 1903 in Leduc, Gasconade County. Missouri. His parents were Fred Krause and Mary Elizabeth Jarvis.

Ben married Florence Ollie Pohlmann.

In 1940, Ben, his wife Florence, and their daughter Barbara were living in Canaan Township of Gasconade County, Missouri.^[1]

Death

Ben passed away in 1983. He was buried at Countryside Memorial Gardens Canaan, Gasconade County, Missouri.^[2]

OBITUARY: THE BLAND COURIER, Bland, Mo, May 18, 1983, Page 5: Benjamin Edwin Krause, 79, of Owensville died Tuesday, May 10, 1983 at Jefferson City. He was born August 20, 1903 at Leduc, a son of the late Fred Krause and Mary Jarvis. He was married in August of 1938 in Hermann to Florence Pohlmann. Mr. Krause was a shoe factory worker and a member of the Methodist Church and the Old Fellows club. Survivors include his wife of the one, one son, Carl Krause of Florissant, two brothers Frank Krause of Annacordis, Washington and Clarence Krause of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Oma Aytes and Gladys Uffmann, both of Owensville and six grandchildren. Services were held the following Thursday at the Zion Methodist Church in Owensville with the Rev. Jimmie Dace officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, four sisters, and one brother.
