Biography

Rudolph was born on 4 July 1904 in Pokave, Pologne, Poland. His parents were August Krieger and Mary Ernsting. Roy immigrated to Canada in 1913 with his mother, brother and sisters to the Jansen, Saskatchewan area. He worked for local farmers herding cattle and ploughing fields and in bush camps cutting logs. He married Hilda Rucks on 19 June 1927 at Esk. They farmed SE 19-2-20-W2 ear Esk. They had fourteen children. Hilda died in December 1965.

Roy continued to farm for a few years before retiring in Jansen. He married Edith (nee Zenert) Wenshlag on 3 September 1983. Roy passed away in 1999 in Watrous Lodge and was buried in Esk Lutheran Cemetery.
