Biography

Albert was born in 1882. His death certificate lists his parents as Frederick Kropf and Alice Graffley, and his wife as Cordelia Mccain Kropf.

In the 1900 census, at age 18, he we living in the household of his parents, Fred and Alice Kroffe (as transcribed, probably “Krofp”), both born in Germany, later census records say Switzerland. They were living in West Jordan, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.[1] His listed siblings are

  • Alice Kroffe, Sister, 16
  • Emma Kroffe, Sister, 14
  • William Kroffe, Brother, 12
  • Mary Krofp, Sister, 9
  • Frank Krofp Brother, 3

On 1 Apr 1907, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, he married Delia Robertson. His age was given as 25, hers as 23.[2] The marriage record shows them both as single, although it appears Delia (Cordelia) was previously married, as it appears that she brought three children into the marriage; see 1910 census, which shows three children born prior to her marriage to Albert, and the 1920 census, which lists the two younger of these children as step-children.

The 1910 census shows him and his wife Delia living in Marsh Valley, Bannock, Idaho, United States[3] The census record states Delia was born in Tennessee, and lists five children:

  • Floyd Kropft, Son, 8, Tennessee
  • Flossie Kropft, Daughter, 6, Arkansas
  • Joseph Kropft, Son, 4, Arkansas
  • Beauton Kropft, Daughter, 2, Utah
  • Eva Kropft, Daughter, 0, Idaho

Flossie and Joseph are listed as step-children in the 1920 census; thus Floyd, absent from the 1920 census, is probably also a step-child.

In the 1920 census, he and his family are in Cache, Utah, United States,[4] in addition to his wife, Cordelia M Kropf, 37, born in Tennessee, eight children are listed:

  • Flossie L Kropf, Step-daughter, 15, Arkansas
  • Joseph L Kropf, Step-son, 13, Arkansas
  • Beanton R Kropf, Daughter, 12, Utah
  • Eva Kropf, Daughter, 10, Idaho
  • Blanchie Kropf, Daughter, 7, Idaho
  • Charles E Kropf, Son, 6, Idaho
  • Effie L Kropf, Daughter, 3, Idaho
  • Richard M Kropf, Son, 1, Idaho

In the 1930 census, he and his wife Cordelia are now in South Jordan, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.[5] Their listed children are

  • Eva Kroff, Daughter, 20, Idaho
  • Blanche Kroff, Daughter, 18, Idaho
  • Charles E Kroff, Son, 16, Idaho
  • Effie L Kroff, Daughter, 13, Idaho
  • Richard M Kroff, Son, 11, Idaho
  • Deward M Kroff, Son, 8, Utah
  • Leroy M Kroff, Son, 6, Utah

The 1940 census shows he and Cordelia in Jordan, Bluffdale, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.[6] Only sons Deward,18, and Leroy, 16, are listed as in the household.

The 1950 census has Him and wife Cordelia living in South Jordan, Salt Lake, Utah.[7]

He passed away in 1961.[8]
