He was a charter member and past president of the Porter County Mental Health Association. He was a member of the the Little Theater Guild, Porter County Farm Bureau, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kouts, Indiana.[3]
He passed away on 2 July 1959 after suffering a heart seizure.[4][5]
