On 12 Sep 1918, Virgil registered for the WW1 Draft. Interestingly, he entered his last name as Laboyteaux in the name space, but signed the document as LaBoyteaux. [5]
By 1920 Virgil was living with his wife Kathryn (‘Katie’j and son James in Liberty, Henry County, Indiana:[6]

Virgil Laboyteaux died in 1961 and was buried in South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, Indiana, along with many of his relatives. [8][9]
“Virgil W. LaBoyteaux, 81, died Wednesday in the Henry County Memorial Hospital following an illness of six weeks. He had lived in New Castle all his life except for the past year when he lived in Greensfork. He was a member of the Christian Church, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He had been employed at the Schuffman Furniture Store for 48 years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include the widow, Katie; a daughters, Mrs. Gaynelle Rosselle; a son, James; and a brother, Frank.
