Deborah (Laborie) Beardslee was married to a descendant of the immigrants William Beardsley and Mary Harvie.

Biography

Deborah (Laborie) Beardslee was born in 1757, daughter of Dr. John La Borie (1723 - 1772) and Deborah (Hyde) La Borie (1730 - 1803).

Deborah married Lemuel Beardsley (1743 - 1806) on 5 Nov 1780. Their children were:

1. Maria Ann (Beardsley) Shelton (~1783 - 1836)
2. Ruth (Beardsley) Shelton (1789 - 1854)
3. Lemuel Beardsley II (1792 - 1870)
4. Sally Beardsley (1794 - 1863).

Deborah died on 19 Mar 1850 aged ~92. She is buried in Old Cemetery of Huntington, Huntington, Connecticut.

Note: There are duplicate Find A Grave memorials for Lemuel and his wife Deborah, one each in Old Cemetery of Huntington, Huntington, Connecticut and Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown, Connecticut. Request has been sent to the Find A Grave memorial manager who created the duplicate memorial (the ones in Newtown Village Cemetery which were the latest created) to verify which cemetery they are actually interred in so that the proper merge of the memorials can be completed). It should also be noted that Lemuel and Deborah are also listed in the Hale Collection of Cemetery Inscriptions and Newspaper Notices (record 2900, # 1164419) ,as being interred in St. Paul's on the Green Cemetery, Norwalk, Connecticut (though the Hale Collection is considered a reliable source I believe in this case it may be incorrect).
