Jack was the son of Ernest Lambert and May Fellows. His father died when he was young. He was a 2nd Lieutenant of the 2nd Battalion of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.
He attended schools in Marlborough, and Merton College, Oxford. He had been in a manager of a coconut estate when World War I hostilities began, and he returned home and applied for a commission in the Kings Royal Rifle Corps, 9th Batallion. [1]
Jack was sent to France in May, and saw action near Ypres in June of 1915. A month later, he was killed at Hooge, officially listed as Missing in Action. [2]
