Beatrice S. Callsen, 85, of Keokuk, died Monday, May 3, at Lexington Square in Keokuk.
She was born on May 10, 1918, in Muscatine, the daughter of Richard and Ada McIntiye Land.
She married Chester R. Callsen on November 3, 1956, in Mediapolis. She worked at Sheller-Globe in Keokuk for 30 years. She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church, the AARP, the Local 444, the Arts and Crafts Club of 444, and the Moose Club.
Survivors include two sons, George (wife Sandy) Ellis, Jr., of Wayland, Mo., and Ronald Lee (wife Margaret) Ellis of Independence, Mo.; six daughters, Betty Wood of Alexandria, Mo., Lurena Knopp of Maryland Heights, Mo., Carolyn Smith of Independence, Mo., Jacklyn Charlton of Shelbina, Mo., Patricia (husband LeRoy) Chaknine of Keokuk, and Grace Glasgow of Keokuk; one sister, Beverly (husband David) McIntire of Silvis, Ill.; 27 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son in infancy, two brothers, one sister, one son-in-law and one grandson.[1]
