Sara was born in 1914. She was the daughter of Elroy Landers and Etta Delp. She passed away in 2008.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, William Bradley Baker, who died in 1977. For the last five years, she was a resident of Carlton Cove. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Billie Scott Sunday school class. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Study Circle, a sustaining member of the Huntsville Junior League, The Friends of the Library Board, a former member of the Symphony Guild, and the Women's Guild of the Huntsville Museum of Art. In previous years, she was a volunteer for the Gray Ladies of Huntsville Hospital, the Friends of the Library Bookstore, Harrison Brothers, and a docent at the Constitutional Hall Park. She was employed by the Huntsville Times as women's editor for a total of 24 years. She was an avid reader; her greatest disappointment was losing her sight and ability to read
