Biography

Elizabeth Lane was baptised on the 13th November 1831 in Melbury Abbas, Dorset, the daughter of George Lane and Sarah Compton. ^[1]. She appears to be living at her parents home in both the 1841 ^[2] and 1851 ^[3] censi before marrying Josiah Merrifield in 1855 ^[4]

The couple had a number of children of which James (Jimmy) Merifield was my direct ancestor. Elizabeth died in March 1912 in Hampshire ^[5] after living with her daughter for a number of years.
