Biography

William represented Great Britain and Ireland in Shooting in the London Olympics of 1908

William Russell Lane Joynt, the son of William Lane-Joynt and Jane Russell, was born on 27 March 1855 at Limerick. ^[1] He was the son of William Lane Joynt (Lord Mayor of Dublin). ^[1]

Like his father and grandfather, he trained to be a lawyer. He was also a renowned philatelist and Olympic shooter. ^{[1] [2]}

He married Annie Quinn on 21 July 1883 at County of the City of Limerick. ^{[3] [4]} The couple had two children: Evelyn and William.

William Russell Lane Joynt died on 6 June 1921, aged 66, at Rosebuch Grove, Clonskeagh, Dublin. ^{[5] [6]}

Mr. William R. Lane Joynt, Barrister-at-Law, late of Carisbrook House, Pembrooke Road, Dublin, died on Monday at Roebuck Grove, Clonskeagh. The late Mr. Lane Joynt, who was in his 66th year, was a well-known figure in Dublin. He was called to the Bar in the Easter Term, 1879.^[7]
