There were at least three individuals named James Langford born in Tarvin, Cheshire between 1796 and 1800. The first was born in 1796 to John and Sarah. The second, born in 1797 to Robert and Ann, died in 1798. The third was another son of Robert and Ann, born in 1800.
Judging from the estimated age in the census records, our James must be the one born in 1796.
