Biography

Bruce William Langridge was born on 30th April 1918 in Marrickville, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of William Langridge and Amy Abbott. ^[1]

Bruce graduated from theological college and was ordained as a Baptist minister.

Bruce married Queensland-born Sheila Grundy in January 1943 in Sydney, New South Wales. ^[2]

Bruce and Sheila became Baptist missionaries to Sudan before returning to Queensland, whereupon Bruce became pastor of several Baptist Churches. They had two sons whilst living in Sudan and further two sons upon returning to Australia, to Queensland:

1. Robin Bruce (1943-2020); married Gwendolyn Mary Richardson; children Kenneth Paul and Pamela Joyce
2. Alasdair John (c1947-living); married Lesley Beth Manuel, daughter of Adrian Trevor Manuel and Gwendoline Mary Limpus; children Rowena Beth, Jasmine Elise and Adrian Bruce
3. Stuart William (c1951- living); married Janelle Robyn Manuel, daughter of Adrian Trevor Manuel and Gwendoline Mary Limpus; children Christopher Trevor and Erica Jayne
4. Trevor Richard (1955-2018); married Jennifer Margaret Shakespeare; children Grace Isabelle, William Robert and Annabelle Louise Rose

Aged 75 years, he passed away on 3rd March 1994 in Redcliffe, Queensland. ^[3]
