"Obituary of Mrs. Julia Boyd Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Boyd, age 91, were held in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanhope, Iowa, at two p.m., Saturday January 20, 1973. The Rev. Enock Hall officiated. The hymns "In the Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer" were sung by William Buckels of Jewell, Iowa. Worship music was provided by Emmett Olson.

Pallbearers were Wayne Samuelson, Harlan Wilson, Kenneth Bockevoldt and Roland Carlson, all of the Stanhope vicinity, Burnice Jacobson of Story City, Iowa and Jack Frandsen of Roland, Iowa.

Julia Christine Larson was born to Michel and his wife Christine (Johnson) on December 23, 1881 in Story County. She was a life long member of the Lutheran Church were she was baptized and confirmed and for the past thirty-four years, she had been a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanhope, Iowa.

On January 23, 1902 she was united in marriage to Arthur K. Boyd of Roland, Iowa and to this union they were blessed with four daughters and two sons, one who died in infancy.

Mrs. Boyd passed away January 17, 1973 at the Presbyterian Home in Ackley, Iowa were she had resided for the past six years.

She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Ethel (Mrs. Herman Halland) of Boone, Iowa, Viola (Mrs. Luther Couser) of Chicago, Illinois, a sister, Mrs. Jennie Olsen of Calamus, Iowa, a brother Curnie Larson of Story City and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, two daughters, Bessie and Adelia, and one son, Kent.

Interment was in the family plot in the Roland Cemetery."
