Lettice was born about 1844[1] in Skelmanthorpe, Yorkshire[1].
In 1891 she was living with her husband and children in Darton. The household consisted of Joe (47, coal miner), Lettace (47), Ben (23, coal miner), Maud (17, dressmaker), Phoebe Eleanor (9), Blanche Mary (7) and Harold (4)[1].
