Biography

Roland Le Strange was a member of the aristocracy in England.

Roland Strange was born about 1869 at Paris, Seine, France the son of Hamon Styleman Strange and Emmeline Austin, and baptised on the 28th of March 1869. Hamon was apparently the son of Henry Styleman Strange. Emmaline was 41 in 1891 and a native of the United States. born Cape of Good Hope.^[1]

UK Census Date 1881: Living with his parents and 5 younger siblings in Hunstanton With Barrett-Ringstead, Norfolk, England. Aged 12. this census includes Eric age 3 years.^[2]

By the Census Dated 1891 Roland was recorded with his mother and siblings in St George Hanover Square, London, England. Aged 22. siblings, Lina, Austin, Maud and Sibyl, twins, and Agnta Astley is a visitor and eleven servants. Eric is missing from this census^[3]

He married Hon. Agneta Frances Delaval Astley, daughter of Sir Delaval Loftus Astley, 18th Lord Hastings and Hon. Frances Diana Manners-Sutton, on 22 October 1891 at Marylebone, London, England.^[4]

They had at least three children; Aleyne, Charles and Bernard.

He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).

UK Census Date 31 March 1901: Living with his wife, two sons, a visitor and 5 servants in Sloane Street, Chelsea, London, Middlesex, England. Aged 32.^[5]

Roland Strange passed away in 1919.^[6][7]
