Biography

Birth

Elizabeth Leavitt was the daughter of Franklin "Frank" Leavitt and Margaret N. "Margie" Leavitt, with whom she was living at St. Louis, Missouri, in 1920 at the age of eight^[1] and in 1930 at the age of 18.^[2]

Education

Elizabeth Harrison Leavitt attended Smith College and graduated from Washington University.^[3]

Marriages

1. Elizabeth Harrison Leavitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Leavitt of St. Louis, Missouri, married Edward Vilas Platt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Platt of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, at the Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis on 3 Aug 1935.^[3] They were the parents of three daughters.^[4] In 1940, Edward V. Platt, 41, born in Minnesota, vice-president of an electric devices company, and Elizabeth Platt, 28, born in Missouri, were living at Chicago, Illinois, with two daughters, one and three years old.^[5]
2. After the death of her Edward Platt in 1959, Elizabeth Platt married a man named Moss. No record of the marriage has been found and her husband's first name is unknown, but her gravestone, next to that of Edward Vilas Platt at the Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc, names her as Elizabeth H. Platt Moss.^[6]

Death

The gravestone of Elizabeth Harrison (Leavitt) (Platt) Moss in the Platt family plot at the Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is inscribed with the dates 1911-1976. Her FindAGrave memorial says she died on 19 Jun 1976, but it cites no source.^[6]
