Sir George Lecester of Toft[1] aka Leycester or Leicester of Tofte[2]
George was the son of William Lecester of Toft and his wife, Katherine, daughter of John Edwards of Chirk.[1] William had his right to bear arms authenticated by Robert Glover, Somerset Herald, during the visitation of Cheshire in 1580.[1]
George had siblings:
Rafe, natus ante nuptias [born before the nuptials], aged 17 in 1580, disinherited by his father,[1] but said to be second son in the 1613 Visitation;[2]
When "Anne Manwaringe wyddowe late wief of Phillipe Manwaringe of Pev Esquier deceased" made her will on 29 January 1586 [now 1587], she left to her "nevewe George Leycester one incalf heffer."[3] Anne was the sister of George's father William.[1]
