Biography

Robert was born in 1907. He was the son of Andrew Lennox and Agnes Nedwill.

In 1911 Agnes Jane is now a widow, aged 40, married 11 years previously, with 4 children all living, David Nedwill 9, Andrew Henry 7, John George 6, and Robert Edward 3. Her mother Marion aged 66 (born Co Antrim), is marked as a visitor and there are two farm servants, Edward Dawson and Joseph Griffen.^[1]

A Social and Ball was held by Ballynougher Union Defenders L.O.L in the Orange Hall to mark the departure of Bros. John and Robert Lennox of Tamnadace to New Zealand. ^[2]

Mr. Andrew Lennox. of Tamnadace. Castledawson, has received a letter from his brother, Robert. who emigrated some time ago to New Zealand. stating that he has purchased the M°Gregor estate. near Waverley, which is good. flat land and wel! grassed, containing 761. for £31.201, representing £41 per acre. Enclosed in the letter was an account of the sale by one of the leading Waverley papers, which states that bidding was very keen and even after the auctioneer's hammer feli in favour of Mr. Lennox. further offers were forthcoming. Before leaving with his brother for New Zealand, Mr. Lennox resided at Tamnadace, and was employed by Messrs Logan. of Magherafelt. ^[3]

He passed away in 1976.
