"Henrietta (LeVin) Ricketts Wendt met her heavenly Father and Lord peacefully and comfortably on Thursday, May 15, 2003, at age 91. Her life-long desire was to remain in her Earthly home surrounded by as many of her six children as the Lord would choose to be present. Henrietta was born February 24, 1912, at Cahokia, Illinois preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alphonse and Isabelle Levin, and beloved husband, Carroll R. Ricketts Sr., after 43 years of marriage, and two brothers and one sister. She was oldest of eight children and lived and raised her six children in Belleville, Illinois, before moving to Texas in the early 80's. Henrietta is survived by her present husband, Edward J. Wendt; two daughters, Janice Ricketts Herry and Marietta Ricketts Piester; four sons, Carroll R. Ricketts Jr., Collin W. Ricketts, Gordon D. Ricketts and Ross E. Ricketts; and she was "Gandma" to 13 grandchildren; "Geme" to nine great-grandchildren; "Etta" to four siblings; and "Aunt Etta" to numerous nieces and nephews. She was a faithful and active member of Cross Lutheran Church and supported foreign and local missions. She requested all memorials be made to Cross Lutheran Church Mission at 2171 E. Common St., New Braunfels, Texas 78130 and/or Oakwood Baptist Church Cross Street Mission Project at 2154 Loop 337, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Henrietta's wishes are being honored with no visitation or funeral services locally. A memorial service will be scheduled at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois with graveside interment to follow."
