WESTERNPORT,MARYLAND -- Albert Ray Lewis, 76, of New George's Creek Road, Westernport, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Born on June 30, 1934 at Luke, MD, he was a son of the late William G. and Goldie (McCauley) Lewis. He also was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ray Lewis; a brother, William "Bill" Lewis and two sisters, Viola Didawick and Evelyn Hershman.
Mr. Lewis was retired from Westvaco Corporation with 41 years of service as an accutrim operator in the finishing department. He served in the United States Navy and attended the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, Keyser, WV.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary Katherine (Laupert) Lewis; one son, James Christopher Lewis, Sr. and wife Diane of Keyser; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Lewis of Keyser and Laura Lynne Miller and husband Tim of Westernport; one sister, Helen V. White of Keyser; six grandchildren, T.J. Lewis, Stacey Rembold, J.C. Lewis, Jr., Travis Moreland, Derek Wolford and Brandon Miller; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Levi, Collin, Mercedes and Olivia and one stepgrandchild, Timmy Miller.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Sterling officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
Condolences and personal reflections to the family may be left after Mr. Lewis' obituary at www.smithfuneralhomes.net.
