Biography

Joseph was born on 4 January 1790 and was baptised on 31 January in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, England. He was the son of Edward Lilley and his wife Frances.^[1][2]

Joseph married Martha Hall in Sibsey, Lincolnshire, in 1811.^[3] At the time of the 1841 census, the family lived in Old Bolingbroke, Lincolnshire. Joseph was a farmer.^[4] Martha died in 1846 at the age of 56.^[5]

He married Mary Ann Eccles (a widower) in Hull, Yorkshire, in 1850.^[6] In 1851 the couple lived in Hull where Joseph worked as a bricklayer.^[7]

He died in 1854.^{[citation needed]}

Research notes

Joseph was described as a farmer on the 1841 census but he was a bricklayer in 1851 and in 1827 and 1833 when his sons were baptised. Fuller-8857 11:54, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
