William's father mentions his in his Will of 1572 "I will that Wyll[ia]m Lynckon my sone shall have all my howses and landes bothe Free and bonde lyeing and being in Hengh[a]m or ells where".[1]
William is also mentioned in his mother's will[4]as are his two sons, Robert and Richard; "Robert Lyncon and to Richard Lyncone the sonnes of William Lyncon my sonne to each of them one ewe"
William passed away in Hingham, Norfolk in June 1601.[5][6]
His Will was proven on 3 October 1601.[3] A transcipt of his Will may be found here
Among other legacies he bequeathed the following property to his son Robert "my landes lienge in the highe feilde of Hengham aforesaide and iij halfe acres lying in Wood Rising feilde and all my landes lying in Hengh[a]m and Southberghe called Crownes". These same lands were bequeathed by his son Robert to his wife Agnes (fields in Wood Rising) and daughter Alice (Crownes in Southbergh).[7]
Research Notes
William's burial record seems to clearly read Jun 1601 however his Will appears to have been written in August 1601. There is no evidence that it was a nuncupative Will. Given that the Will is from a copy of the register it is likely therefore that the date has been mis-transcribed. Further research required.
