Biography

Brig-Gen. Malcolm Orme Little (born Malcolm Robert Little) (1858-1931) was the son of Archibald Little and Jane Orme.

He gained the rank of Major with the 9th Lancers in March 1900, promoted to Lt.-Col. in 1904.

He served in the Second Anglo-Afghan War for which he received the medal with two clasps and the bronze star. In the South African War he was mentioned in despatches (MiD) three times.

He commandeda yeomanry brigade in the First World War.

He was made a C.B. in 1904 and a C.B.E. in 1919.

He was a champion Polo Player.

He married Iris Hermione, daughter of Albert Brassey Esq., (1840-1918) of Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire.

On 19 January 1923, Little was commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Warwick.

He died aged 73 on the 1st of February 1931 at his home in Rugby, Warwickshire, England.
