Biography

Charlotte Jane was born in 1857 in London. She was baptised 8 May 1870 at Saint Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London to John and Jane Littlehales (née Burgess). John's occupation at the date of her christening was listed as Printer.[1][2].

For many years she lived with her aunt, Harriett Littlehales, in Shrewsbury, and was the primary beneficiary in her will.[3]

She was the second wife of Christopher Leek following the death of his first wife Mary (Morris) Leek who died in 1902.

They married in Shrewsbury, Shropshire in 1904.[4][5]

Charlotte Jane and Christopher Leek 'of Onehunga' are mentioned in a newspaper article over a court claim by a builder for a loan agreed to at the Auckland Workingmen's Club but not paid.[6]

They are again mentioned in a newspaper article dated August 1937, when they are said to be living in Onehunga. [7]
