When Matilda Locker was born on May 23, 1834, in Russell, Kentucky, her father, Allen, was 34, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 33. She married Christopher Charles (Kit) (C.C.) Horn on August 10, 1851, in Schuyler, Missouri. They had 11 children in 23 years. She died on January 10, 1907, in Nodaway, Missouri, at the age of 72, and was buried there.
